Addis Ababa, December 24, 2011 (Addis Ababa) - Health Bureau of the Oromia State said more than 1.5 million family heads have been implementing health extension package programs.
Government Communication Affairs Process Representative with the Bureau, Abera Degefu told ENA that the programs are being implemented in all woredas of the state.
Encouraging results have been registered in implementation of the programs over the past few years, the representative said.
Abera said ensuring public health is necessary in order to achieve the five -year Growth and Transformation Plan.
The region is implementing the principle of "No Woman Should Die Giving Birth" in the efforts to achieve the goals set in the health , he said.
The bureau is working in collaboration with government bodies at all levels and also stakeholders to implement the programs, Abera added.
More than 14,000 female extension workers have been engaged in implementation of the programs in the regional state .
