Operational Updates
Children social food safety net
• WFP partnered with the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office and World Vision in the newly launched "ENOUGH" Campaign, aimed at ending hunger and ensuring no child or family suffers from hunger or malnutrition.
• WFP collaborated with the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, to provide social safety nets for 24,189 orphans and vulnerable children, offering one warm meal per day to meet their immediate food needs. In September 2024, WFP distributed 149 mt of food in support of this effort.
Home-grown school feeding (HGSF)
• WFP held an onboarding training for three selected retailers to manage the distribution of eggs and vegetables to 50 schools under the HGSF programme. The vendors trained were from Kitale, the National Agricultural Marketing Board, and the Eswatini National Agricultural Union.
• During the session, the retailers were trained on WFP’s core objectives, the scope of HGSF, logistics requirements, service monitoring and evaluation, the use of DPP Printer and Point of Service equipment, and compliance with the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse policy.
