Micro-dam under construction at Giniseba administrative area

Mai-Aini, 27 April 2014- The residents of Gineseba administrative area, Mai-Aini sub-zone, are engaged three days per week in construction of a micro-dam with a help of machinery. The micro-dam is believed to alleviate drinking water shortage of the residents, according to Mr. Habtom Hagos, administrator of the administrative area.

Mr. Gebehiwot Leake, the village coordinator, indicated that the residents of the administrative area have been forced to travel long distance to fetch water, and that the construction of the micro-dam in their area would alleviate their problem.

Mr. Yemane Mebrahtu, administrator of the sub-zone, on his part explained that on top of the construction of the micro-dam the inhabitants are engaged in soil and water conservation programs and in renovating roads that have been damaged due to flooding.
