Mr. Abdellah Musa, administrator of the Northern Red Sea region revealed the good harvest expected this year owing to the construction of various water canals and embankments to direct the flow of water from the highlands during a recent visit he carried out in the Shebah, She'eb Gedged and She'eb Mensheb, Gadme Halib and Mogae' agricultural fields of Ghindae, She'eb, and Afabet sub-zones respectively from the 17th to the 19th of November.
The administrator further reminded farmers to exert their due role in informing the ministry of Agriculture on time upon infestation of pests as the gathering of harvest season is in.
Reports from the region also indicated that the government of Eritrea has allocated 1.25 million Nakfa for the construction of various agricultural schemes.
Similarly, in a meeting Mr. Abdellah Musa conducted in the region on the 20th of November also called on inhabitants of the region to enhance drip irrigation activities and use the natural opportunities provided to them upon living near the seashores and to properly utilize the tractors made available to them by the government in addition to constructing water reservoirs in an effort to guaranteeing food security and avoiding relief expectancy.
