Highlights
- UNHCR and the Directorate for the Reconstruction of Social Cohesion inaugurated a soccer field in the IVU community in San Salvador Centro. The Vice Minister of Foreign Aairs and the Attorney General joined the event, which featured a friendly match between the community soccer team and the national champion, Alianza. The revamp of this public space is part of UNHCR’s eorts to promote peace in communities historically aected by gang violence.
- The people of San Matías in Quezaltepeque now have access to the Community Integration Centre (CIC) inaugurated by UNHCR, the Directorate for the Reconstruction of Social Cohesion, and the municipality of La Libertad Centro. This is the first public space in the area to oer capacity-building, sports, cultural, and recreational activities for youth and people of all ages.
