Hurricane Ida recently brought strong winds and torrential rainfalls to El Salvador causing landslides that killed 192 people. Among the dead were four children Convoy of Hope feeds in its feeding program.

"We are in communication with our in-country director," says Kary Kingsland, vice president of disaster response for Convoy of Hope. "Our director and his team have been aiding the schools where we feed children and extending assistance to the families of the children who died."

In the days following the hurricane many areas of El Salvador were without electricity or clean water and remain isolated from government and non-government aid. Convoy of Hope shipped a container full of food and supplies to El Salvador to help with the relief efforts.
