Very strong winds and storm surges affected southern El Salvador (in particular, La Libertad department) on 25 May, causing coastal floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
Media report, as of 27 May, more than 50 injured people and a number of damaged buildings and infrastructure across the area of the El Majahual locality, close to La Libertad town (La Libertad department, El Salvador Pacific coast).
Over the next 72 hours, no more severe weather is forecast over most of El Salvador.
