Brother's Brother Foundation in cooperation
with the Salvadoran American Health Foundation appeal for funds to aid
the victims of the recent earthquake in El Salvador. Over 1,000 have died,
and 1,000,000 are without homes or livelihoods due to three recent earthquakes.
A total of twenty-three tractor-trailer loads have been sent in response to requests for aid to the earthquake victims in El Salvador. Shipments included baby food and other products from the H.J. Heinz Company, respiratory masks and first-aid kits from Mine Safety Appliances, antibiotics and other medicines from Teva. The value to date, of materials sent to El Salvador is $4,500,000 the total weight of all shipments is 630,000 pounds.
The tractor-trailer leaving Pittsburgh May 11 will include much needed medical and surgical supplies; surgical gloves, bandages, operating room supplies are included.
BBF a 43-year old Pittsburgh based international charity, has provided 65,000 tons of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 110 countries using a combination of gifts from the general public, corporations and the U.S. government.
