- Heavy rain has been affecting central Ecuador (in particular the Tungurahua Province) over the past few days, causing rivers overflow (particularly La Estancia River), and floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
- Media report, as of 8 September, three fatalities and two people still missing in Baños de Agua Santa City due to floods. In addition, media report around 50 isolated people after a bridge was severely damaged by a landslide that occurred in the same area.
- Over the next 24 hours, more heavy rain is forecast over central Ecuador, including the already affected Province.
