OVERVIEW
Hurricane Maria made landfall in Dominica as a Category 5 hurricane on 18 September, generating critical humanitarian needs throughout the island. Food and water distribution remain priority tasks as virtually all crops were destroyed and water supply systems are still being restored. Several roadways are still blocked by debris and landslides, limiting access within Dominica and hindering remaining assessments and delivery of aid to isolated communities.
