Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming visits Post-Hurricane Schools Reconstruction Project

On October 29, H.E. Ambassador Chu Maoming made a field trip to the construction sites of the China-Aid Project of Schools Reconstruction after Hurricane in the Commonwealth of Dominica, undertaken by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), to assess the progress of rebuilding of schools damaged by Hurricane Maria. He toured the construction sites of Goodwill Secondary School, Thibaud Primary School and Calibishie Primary School, accompanied by project team leaders and Sun Xinhua, First Secretary at the Chinese Embassy responsible for economic and commercial affairs.

During his visit, Ambassador Chu Maoming attentively reviewed the project team’s report on the overall status and recent construction progress. He commended the team's hard work and the important advancements achieved thus far.

Ambassador Chu highlighted that the China-Aid Project of Schools Reconstruction after Hurricane stands as both a bridge of friendship between China and Dominica and an essential project that directly benefits the Dominican people. He called on the project team to maintain high standards and rigorous requirements, prioritizing construction quality and safety. Ambassador Chu also encouraged close collaboration with the local community, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling corporate social responsibility and portraying a positive image of responsible Chinese enterprises. He expressed his hope that this project would further strengthen the ties between China and Dominica through high-quality, impactful reconstruction.
