Djibouti: Operational Update (June 2023)

The month of June 2023 was marked by the celebration of World Refugee Day, the Day of the African Child, the Eid-el-Adha holiday, the launch of the SENS survey, as well as preparations for the resumptionof US Resettlement Circuits in Djibouti, particularly for the update of unfinalized cases. This represents a major development in Sustainable Solutions.

The Republic of Djibouti is one of the most stable countries in the region, currently hosting 30,751 refugees and asylum seekers, and continuing to receive arrivals from Somalia Ethiopia, and Yemen.UNHCRworks in closecoordination with the government, UN agencies and other actors in fulfilling its mandate to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people forced to flee
