OPERATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
The Solidarity Caravan arrived in Ali-Addeh. On 16 January, the Solidarity Caravan led by the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity arrived in the village of Ali-Addeh, located in the Ali-Sabieh region, home to 24,769 refugees and asylum seekers. The caravan is part of National Solidarity Week and will highlight the national efforts aiming to strengthen basic social services for the most vulnerable communities, including refugees and asylum seekers. The caravan will also examine the resilience capacity of the most vulnerable communities.
REFUGEE RESPONSE
UNHCR received mosquitoes net from World Health Organisation (WHO), through its partner the Ministry of Health (MoH). Through its partner the Ministry of Health (MoH), the UNHCR received 36 000 mosquitoes net from World Health Organisation (WHO), which will be distributed to refugees and asylum seekers. In addition to providing better protection from mosquitoes and enhancing sleep quality, these mosquito nets will also help prevent diseases like dengue and malaria, which are presently in season.
UNHCR has completed the rehabilitation of the Markazi health center. Under UNHCR Representative leadership and guidance of the health coordinator has initiated and completed the rehabilitation of the Markazi health center. This health facility which benefits for 2 containers will withstand to sandstorms that often hit the region and adding on this, will ensure equity, ethic, better access and integrity related to primary health care principles in health care delivery for that refugee village. With the newly refurbished health facility, the 2,500 refugees and asylum seekers living in Markazi would receive better medical care.
