REFUGEE RESPONSE

UNHCR and partners carried out a home visit for most vulnerable refugees in Ali-Addeh and Holl-Holl. On 06 and 09 March, 2025, UNHCR in collaboration with its partner CIAUD CANADA carried out home visits for over 48 people with specific needs including 30 in Ali-Addeh and 18 in Holl-Holl. The visits were part of a quarterly assessment to review existing and identify new cases with similar needs. As a follow-up, individual case management will be carried out in the upcoming week, the identified people with specific needs will receive monthly financial assistance.

UNHCR followed-up on crane truck deployment with its partner Rural Hydraulics Department (DHR). During the week, UNHCR followed-up on crane truck deployment with its partner DHR. UNHCR has initiated advocacy to the concerned ministry to accelerate the availability and deployment of the crane truck to repair and re-commission the borehole at Holl-Holl refugee village as it is causing water shortage within the site. UNHCR is seeking to solve the water shortage issue in refugee settings.

UNHCR, in collaboration with ONARS, continued to register new arrivals. On 11 March 2025, UNHCR, in collaboration with ONARS, registered 9 households of new arrivals composed of 19 people. These include 4 Yemeni families, 3 from Ethiopia, 1 family from Sudan and 1 from Somalia. In addition, as part of the continuous registration, UNHCR in collaboration with ONARS registered 23 households including 18 families in Holl-Holl and 5 in Djibouti-ville. The cases include refugees already registered who need updating, civil registrations such as births, deaths, marriages and divorces, and the registration of unregistered children.
