DR Congo: LRA raid in eastern province

At least two people have been killed after yet another raid by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) in the village of Tapili, in the Eastern Province according to Ademis, the Congolese missionary press agency. The latter added that many inhabitants have fled toward the nearby cities of Rungu and Isiro. During the raids, most crucially, the church of village - located about 50 km from the town of Niangara. According to "Ademis", the victims are a police officer and another government employee. The LRA continues to represent a danger in many areas of northeastern Congo. Some humanitarian groups, Congolese and foreign ones, said that the LRA has threatened to launch raids during the Christmas period in several villages of Haut-Uele: the district marked by the offensives that left hundreds of casualties a year ago.
