DR Congo - Bas Uele, Haut Uele, Ituri and Tshopo: Timeline 2016

The number of cases of children under five years with severe acute malnutrition has seen a 350% increase since 2013. Extreme levels of food insecurity are expected to continue in 2017.

Save the Children warns that displaced populations do not have enough food, and lack health services, clean and safe water and hygiene materials as areas become increasingly cut off by violence.

A robust response is required to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe. The plan aims to immediately and rapidly scale-up operations and to increase the provision of protection and life-saving assistance.
