Disease outbreaks reported: Cholera and Acute haemorrhagic fever syndrome in Democratic Republic of Congo

Details: 75 cases including 4 deaths (CFR 5.3%) (associated with flooding of the Congo river and its tributaries).
Investigation in progress. Health education and sanitary measures implemented.

Details: Two suspect fatal cases have occurred in Durba/Watsa area where an outbreak of Marburg haemorrhagic fever was investigated earlier this year (see OVL May-June issues). Investigation in progress.
