Heavy rainfall and strong winds affected the western Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), in particular the Kongo Central province, on 3-4 December, causing flash floods, mudslides and a number of severe weather-related incidents that have resulted in casualties and severe damage.
Media report, as of 6 December, six fatalities, two people missing, seven injured and several houses destroyed and damaged across the Matadi city area, the capital of the Kongo Central province, bordering with Angola.
Over the next 96 hours, more rainfall is forecast across most of the Kongo Central province.
