On 14 June, heavy rains causing floods affected Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), resulting in fatalities and damage.
According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as of 16 June, 30 people have died and 44 have been injured, while 36,030 have been displaced and a total of 70,395 affected. Significant material and infrastructure damage has been reported, including the flooding of more than 500 households in the commune of Matete, Kinshasa.
Over the next 48 hours, drier conditions are expected over Kinshasa in the west of the country, while moderate rain with isolated very heavy rain is forecast for the north of the DRC.
