Eastern DRC accounts for 80 percent of IDPs in the DRC due to armed conflict and insecurity.

• Ongoing conflict in eastern DRC—particularly in North Kivu Province—continues to drive civilian protection violations, including extremely high levels of gender-based violence (GBV), according to the GBV Area of Responsibility and the GBV Protection Cluster.

• Armed clashes in South Kivu displaced approximately 10,000 people and limited humanitarian access in September.
