From October 25 to November 20, two engineers from Huayun Sounding (Beijing) Meteorological Technology Co., Limited (Huayun Sounding) traveled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for the inspection and maintenance of three automatic weather stations in Kinshasa, Matadi, and Kikwit. They have also trained staff from National Agency of Meteorology and Tele detection by Satellite (METTELSAT) of DRC on equipment operation and maintenance.
The three weather stations are now successfully transmitting data to local systems as well as the Data Centre of METTELSAT of DRC through direct on-site connection and wireless transmission. The effort has supported the Belt and Road Initiative and fostered the international cooperation in meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation.
The inspection and training work was highly praised by the Director General of METTELSAT of DRC and widely recognized by meteorological users in DRC.
