Violence, abuses including abduction, looting, rape, and forced recruitment of children by armed groups are major concerns.

500,000 displaced lost their homes and livelihoods, 2.6 million people are food insecure, emergency levels of malnutrition in some areas as well as recurrent epidemics and exposure to natural disasters increase their vulnerability.

Access is extremely difficult due to poor infrastructure and violence. Lack of basic services and infrastructure is exacerbated by the conflict, resulting in enormous humanitarian needs.
