Hurricane Irma hit Cuba for more than 72 hours and affected about 90% of the national territory. It has a severe impact in the health sector, even though, the services remained active. Almost 1,000 health institutions were significantly affected, which prevented the immediate resumption of vital services, including emergency services. Its early restoration is required to ensure universal access to the health of the Cuban population.
