Ivory Coast - Landslide (NOAA-CPC, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 22 May 2025)

  • A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall occurred in the Abidjan city area in the Abidjan district, southern Ivory Coast, on the night between 20-21 May resulting in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, as of 22 May, 12 people died and seven have been injured in the suburb of Attécoubé in north-western Abidjan city. In addition, three houses have been destroyed.
  • Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
  • On 22-23 May, more rainfall is still forecasted over the Abidjan city area and southern Ivory Coast.
