On 27 July 2018, the Colombia National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD) reported floods in the city of Inirida, Guainia Department, affecting 3,534 families due to intense and prolonged rain, which caused an overflow of the Inirida, Guania, and Atabapo rivers. The UNGRD provided humanitarian assistance and delivered 1,300 kits, 1,450 bed sheets, and 1,450 blankets for affected families in Inirida as well as for the rural areas of Cacahual, Puerto Colombia, San Felipe, and Guadalupe. In addition, media reported, that the city of Bucaramanga, Santander Department, is under a red alert due to a sudden increase of the level of water in ten rivers and that more than 400 people who live in nearby communities may potentially be affected. United States of America (update)
On 30 July 2018, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published an updated report indicating an increase of acres of land burned from 28,763 (Friday, 27 July report) to 95,368 due to the wildfire in Shasta County, California where approximately 39,000 people were under mandatory evacuation. A total of six fatalities were reported. In addition, a hospital was completely evacuated, another hospital (neo-natal patients) was partially evacuated, and eight intermediate care facilities were fully evacuated.
