Colombia - Severe weather (media, IDEAM) (ECHO Daily Flash of 17 April 2026)

  • Very heavy rainfall has been affecting western Colombia (in particular, the Antioquia department) since 14 April, causing landslide risk that have resulted in population displacement and damage.
  • Media report, as of 17 April, 12 preventively evacuated families in the area of the El Porvenir village (Itagüí municipality, southern Antioquia department) due to the landslide risk.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more rainfall with locally heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of the Antioquia department.
