On 16 May, heavy rainfall hit Puerto Triunfo Municipality in the Antioquia Department (north-western Colombia) causing floods and leading to widespread damage. The severe weather conditions affected also the Municipalities of Belmira, Sopetrán and Frontino.

According to the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS) and the Government of Antioquia, 468 families have been affected, eight houses destroyed and 15 damaged.

For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rainfall with localized thunderstorms is forecast across the affected Department.
