Following the landslide of 17 July in the Municipality of Quetame, Cundinamarca Department (central Colombia), the number of casualties and damage increased.
According to media, as of 21 July, 20 people died, nine others are still missing and 6 people were injured. Several homes and a key trade route, including a bridge on the Bogotá-Villavicencio Highway, have been destroyed.
Over the next 24 hours, more rainfall is expected over the central-northern Colombia, with locally heavy rainfall in the noth-western part of the country.
