KEY DEVELOPMENTS:

Complex Emergency

· Internal displacement: Armed confrontations, landmines and killings triggered mass displacements in Norte de Santander, Córdoba, Antioquia and Cauca. In Guaviare department indigenous communities are at risk of mass displacement

· Children victims of violence in urban areas: Cases of SGBV against children and adolescents have been reported in Tumaco (Nariño). In Medellín, there was an increase in the number of killings of children/youth under 18 and women during 2010 (24 and 4, 6% respectively)

· IDPs and leaders of land restitution processes continue to be targeted by armed groups

· Follow-up: Mobility restrictions and risk of displacement in Chocó department. According to local sources, the mobility along Atrato River has gradually been improving. However, there is still fear among indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities in the region.
