- An earthquake of 6.3 M at a depth of 10 km occurred in Valle del Cauca Department, west-central Colombia on 8 June at 13.08 UTC (8.08 local time). The epicentre was located approximately 16 km northwest of Paratebueno municipality in the department of Cundinamarca, and approximately 100 km east of the capital of Colombia, Bogotà city.
- Four aftershocks with a magnitude between 4.9 M and 4.5 M have been registered in the same area.
- USGS PAGER reports that up to 1,000 people were exposed to severe shaking, 11,000 people to very strong shaking and 79,000 to strong shaking.
- According to media, as of 9 June, at least four people have been injured, and several houses and structures have been damaged across Paratebueno and Villavicencio municipalities.
