Colombia - Conflict (DG ECHO partners, UN OCHA) (ECHO Daily Flash of 9 December 2019)
In November, a recrudescence of armed violence in the country has affected over 11,260 people, including 5,660 forcedly displaced in mass events and over 5,600 suffering confinement. Fights for territorial control between armed groups affect in particular the Pacific Coast, with the expansion of ELN (Ejercito de Liberación Nacional) in Chocó and FARC dissidents in Nariño and Cauca. Armed actions in the North (Bajo Cauca and South of Cordoba) involve mostly post-paramilitary groups such as AGC (Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia).
DG ECHO partners are present in the different affected areas providing an integrated emergency response (including health, WASH, food assistance and protection).
