The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Namibia sent a Note Verbale to the Chinese Embassy in Namibia on 6 May 2011, acknowledging with appreciation the generous donation made by the Embassy and the Red Cross Society of China to the Office of the Prime Minister for the victims of the recent flooding that affected the Northern and North-eastern parts of the country. The Ministry further wished to express sincere gratitude of the Namibian Government for the support shown by China in time of need.
Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, H.E. Mr.Wei Ruixing handed over the donation by the Embassy Staff and the cash aid from the Red Cross Society of China, totaling around N$230,000, to the Office of the Prime Minister on April 5, 2011 for the flood disaster relief.
