The Livelihood Development Project in Ya’an disaster area put forwarded by Jinde Charities over the meeting of “Beautiful Village, Go Together with Charities”had got through evaluation of the project committee and got financial assistance from China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation. The project would be carried out in Dahe Village, Taiping Town, helping local people develop breeding industry in the form of professional cooperative of farmers.
On February 20, 2014, the breeding project team of Jinde Charities went to Dahe Village and had communicational meeting with twenty five local villagers who would take part in sheep cultivation.
Mr. Yang Mankang of Ya’an office of Jinde Charities pointed out, “China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation and Jinde Charities come here to serve the local villagers and guide them in breeding industry, whereas the twenty-five families are the main body of the project as well as the strength of its future development.” Through study and investigation at an earlier date, the project team decided to make Pingxi Group as the center of the activity and them spread to Wan Jiashan group.
The twenty-five villagers enrolled in the project voluntarily, while the final result was decided by voting. Over the communicational meeting, Mr. Yang made an introduction about the project background, the process of selecting the trial spot, the developmental trend and related regulations of breeding industry and the way in which villagers collect money by themselves. Meanwhile, he made an emphasis on the importance of personal safety issue in construction process of sheep pen.
The meeting did not end until half past three in the afternoon. The list of twenty-five families who will take part in the breeding project had been decided, which will be announced the public two days later. The project team members went to visit the Secretary of Party Committee Wangdong, The project has won great support and affirmation from him. He said that it is necessary to be pragmatic when doing a project instead of a high goal which is impossible to approach. The government will give support to people if the project is really good.
