Eastern and Northeast China should prepare for preventing heavy rain

At 6:00 of July 24, National Meteorological Center continues to release yellow warning for typhoon: the center of this year’s No.10 typhoon “Matmo” was in Jianyang of Fujian at 5:00, which was 27.2°N, 118.0°E. The maximum wind force was force 10 (25m/s) and the minimum pressure was 988hPa.

It is predicted that “Matmo” will move towards north at the speed of 20 to 25km per hour and will enter into northeastern Jiangxi. Then it will continue moving towards north with a reducing intensity.

From 8:00 of July 24 to 8:00 of July 25, there will be force 7 to 8 gale in Bashi Channel, Balintang Channel, Taiwan Strait, northeast of South China Sea, east of Taiwan, most places of East China Sea, south of Yellow Sea, coastal areas of Taiwan, Fujian and Zhejiang, Hangzhou Gulf, Yangtze River Delta and coastal areas of Shanghai and Jiangsu. Most places of Fujian, central and western Zhejiang, central and eastern Jiangxi, central and eastern Anhui, most places of Jiangsu and Shandong will get heavy rain or rainstorm. Northeastern Jiangxi, western Zhejiang, southern Anhui and southwestern Shandong Peninsular will suffer heavy rainstorm (100 to 180mm).

At 6:00 of July 24, National Meteorological Center continues to release orange warning for rainstorm.
