URUMQI, Jun 16, 2005 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Four people were killed and four others were seriously injured in a rare flood in Huocheng County of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Monday afternoon, government sources said.
The flood followed a one-hour rainstorm and destroyed local buildings and irrigation works in Huocheng County of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture. On the first day of the flooding, three people were found dead, two missing and four others injured. More than 10,000 head of livestock were also killed in the flooding.
The four injured are now out of life danger.
Search for a missing woman is still going on.
