CMA activated level three emergency response to address typhoon Maria

The National Meteorological Centre issued yellow warning of typhoon at 10:00 a.m. on July 9. Typhoon Maria is expected to move towards west by north at the speed of 30 kilometers per hour and gradually approach to the east of Taiwan Strait. It will land in or across northeastern Taiwan in next night, then land in Jinjiang of Fujian and Wenzhou of Zhejiang again on morning of July 11. After landing, it will continue to move towards northwest.

China Meteorological Administration (CMA) activated a level three emergency reponse to Typhoon Maria. It is required that the relevant meteorological sectors attached to CMA enter the emergency position immediately and put corresponding meteorological services in place. The potential affected areas such as Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan are expected to sustain or adjust the corresponding emergency state according to local realities. (July 9)
