A wildfire has been burning in Yajiang district, in western Sichuan province in southwestern China since 9 December, prompting evacuations and causing damage. According to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the wildfires have burnt an area of 364 ha.
As of 10 December, media reported at least 140 evacuated people in a village in Yajiang county, and national authorities deployed more than 300 rescue personnel.
Over the next 24 hours, according to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the fire danger forecast is moderate in the affected area.
