- Tropical cyclone WUTIP crossed the Gulf of Tonkin passing by northern Viet Nam on 13 June and made landfall on the same day in Dongfang City in western Hainan island in southern China, it made a second landfall in Leizhou City in Guangdong Province of southern China on 14 June as tropical storm. It crossed Guangdong province on 14 June and dissipated over Jiangxi province on 15 June. WUTIP brought heavy rainfall and flooding.
- According to media, as of 16 June, nine people died across the Hue, Quang Tri, and Quang Binh provinces in central Viet Nam, and two are missing in Quang Binh province. More than 3,500 houses have been affected, over 20 flights have been cancelled in Da Nang city and 88,000 ha of crops have been flooded.
- In China, on Hainan island, 1,325 people have been evacuated to shelters and then relocated. In Guangdong province, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated, more than 139 flights have been cancelled and classes have been suspended in 16 cities.
- Over the next 48 hours, very heavy rainfall is forecast over south-eastern China.
