China: RCSC provides emergency reliefs to snow-disaster areas

Emergency disaster-relief materials worth more than 750,000 yuan were immediately offered to China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hubei Province.

Heavy snow in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region had left one person dead and forced the evacuation of 5,435 as of 8:00 p.m. last Friday, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs Saturday.

Red Cross Society of China(RCSC) has allocated 800 cotton-padded coats and 1,000 cotton-padded quilts worth 96,340 yuan for relief operation and the regional branch allocated a batch of relief materials worth 30,000 yuan for disaster relief in the affected areas in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Another two batch of relief materials respectively worth 347,500 yuan and 313,440 yuan had been sent to snow-hit areas in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hubei Province by the RCSC.
