On 18 July at 0.00 UTC, its centre was located inland approximately 15 km east of the Qinzhou City (southern Guangxi Province), with maximum sustained winds of 111 km/h (tropical storm).

The early passage of TALIM (as a tropical depression) on 13-14 July over northern Luzon Island (northern Philippines) caused heavy rainfall that resulted in approximately 1,800 displaced people across the area.

TALIM is forecast to continue northwestward over the southern and western Guangxi Province and over the far north-eastern Vietnam on 18-19 July, further weakening and dissipating.

Over the next 48 hours, very heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surges are forecast over the Hainan Island, Guagdong and Guangxi Provinces and northern Vietnam.
