Heavy rainfall has been affecting south-eastern China (particularly the Guangdong province) over the past few days, triggering a huge landslide that has resulted in casualties and severe damage.
Media report, as of 3 May, 48 fatalities and 30 injured people due to a landslide that occurred on 1 May very early in the morning (UTC) in the area of the Chayang village (Meizhou prefecture, eastern Guangdong province).
Over the next 72 hours, according to the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), very heavy rainfall is still forecasted over the whole Guangdong province.
