Floods, flash floods and mudslides have been affecting parts of China over the past few days, resulting in casualties and damage.

According to media reports, in Sichuan (south-western China), six people have died, 12 are still missing, and 1,300 people have been evacuated. In Gansu province (north-western China), six fatalities and 3,000 evacuated people have been reported.

National authorities have dispatched more than 400 rescue workers to search for those reported missing in Sichuan.
For the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain is forecast over most parts of central, southern and north-eastern China.
