Highlights

  • CHILE: More than 6,500 people have been evacuated within the exclusion zone of 20 km. around the Calbuco Volcano. A health alert remains in effect for the provinces of Llanquihue and Osorno.

  • PERU: Flooding in Loreto has affected about 10,000 people, damaged nearly 25,000 houses and destroyed more than 5,000 hectares of crops.

  • NEPAL: After the 7.8 magnitude earthquake at least 2,200 people have died and over 5,800 have been injured.
    UN agencies with their humanitarian partners are supporting the response to the emergency.
