A wildfire has been affecting the Chacabuco province, central Chile since the afternoon of 30 November (UTC), causing casualties and damage. The total burn area reached more than 200 ha and the wildfire is currently under containment.
Media report, as of 4 December, three injured people and several evacuated people across the Tiltil municipality, Chacabuco province, just north of the Santiago metropolitan region.
Over the next 48 hours, according to the JRC Global Wildfire Information System (GWIS), the fire danger forecast is from high to extreme over the Chacabuco province ad the Santiago metropolitan region.
