Egyptian medical convoy visits Chad within the framework of the Chad campaign to combat blindness

Within the cooperation framework between the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa, the Islamic Development Bank and the Arab Doctors Union, the Egyptian medical convoy arrived at N'Djamena earlier this month within the framework of a campaign that aims at combating blindness caused by cataract in Chad.

The Chadian Hospital "Al Horreya" held a ceremony on this occasion, which was attended by Ms. Mahdeya Othman Eissa Chadian Minister of State for Health. On this occasion, the Chadian Minister delivered a speech that praised the role of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa as an important partner in the development process in Chad. Also, the Egyptian Ambassador to Chad delivered a speech, expressing the profound Egyptian-African relations, especially with Chad, and highlighted the role of the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa.

It is expected that the medical convoy will treat 1000 cataract cases within the framework of a plan aiming at treating 10000 cataract cases in Chad during upcoming visits for the Egyptian medical team.

The visit of the Egyptian medical convoy was met with great interest from the Chadian media, as well as the Chadian society, as hundreds of patients visited "Al Horreya" hospital daily to obtain the medical service offered by the convoy.
