- The humanitarian impact of the widespread flooding caused by heavy rainfall that has been affecting central and south-western Chad is increasing.
- As of 17 September, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reports at least 341 fatalities, at least 1,495,969 people affected and 265,590 damaged houses. The regions of Tandjile, Mayo-Kebbi Est, Logone Oriental, Lac, Guera, Salamat, Batha, and Mandoul are the most affected.
