- As of 17 September, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reports at least 341 fatalities, at least 1,495,969 people affected and 265,590 damaged houses. The regions of Tandjile, Mayo-Kebbi Est, Logone Oriental, Lac, Guera, Salamat, Batha, and Mandoul are the most affected.
- On 17-18 September, more rainfall is forecast over the southern part of the country.
