As of February 2025, 4,014,566 individuals were affected, including 436,511 internally displaced persons (11% of the displaced population), 2,309,365 returnees former IDPs (58%), 539,800 returnees from abroad (13%) and 728,890 refugees (18%). In the CAR, the largest displaced population consists of former IDP returnees. Refugees from the CAR are primarily hosted by Cameroon (283,692 individuals, or 42% of the refugees), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) (207,566 individuals, or 31% of the refugees) and Chad (140,281 individuals, or 21% of the refugees). Nonetheless, 10,058 refugees from the Central African Republic are still living in Sudan (2% of the refugees). The country is also home for refugees from neighbouring countries, hosting a total of 49,340 refugees coming from Sudan (34,639 individuals), the DRC (6,501 individuals), Chad (5,002 individuals) and South Soudan (3,198 individuals).
