Media in Central African Republic respond to changing news agenda

Listen to the News

Journalists in the Central African Republic are being encouraged to report stories which reflect the changing needs of the country's people.

Ethnic violence has spread across CAR over the last year and a half.

Thousands of people are believed to have been killed and hundreds of thousands of others have been forced to flee their homes.

Access to reliable information is seen as a one element that will help to bring stability back to the country.
The non-governmental organization, Internews, is working with the Network of Journalists for Human Rights in CAR to improve the information flow.

Ahead of World Press Freedom Day on Saturday, Jean-Pierre Ramzani asked Mathias Manirakiza of Internews how the organisation is working with the journalists.
