Gender-based violence(GBV) has reached alarming levels in Central African Republic (CAR),fueled by sociocultural norms that disadvantage women and girls despite the existence of national policies and legal frameworks on the matter. This situation is also exacerbated by the crisis the country has been going through for several years. Violence against civilians and ongoing insecurity, particularly in areas outside urban centers, continue to increase the vulnerability of millions, especially women, whose livelihoods are deteriorating and whose access to food and essential services such as healthcare and clean water is drastically limited. In2025, 2.4 million people -or 37.5 per cent of the population - are extremely vulnerable, to the extent that humanitarian assistance alone will not be enough to restore their well-being.
