The volatile security context is marked by recurrent displacements. Between September 2023 and September 2024, more than 240,000 people were affected by new shocks linked to violence or disasters. The areas most affected were the sub-prefectures of Ouham (27%), Ouham-Pendé (13%), Mbomou (12%) and Ouaka (11%).
Most of the shocks resulting in the displacement of people led to the destruction of shelters and loss of essential household items, exacerbating the needs of communities already weakened by a fragile socio-economic context.
